Description: | Felix Bräuer (b. 1988) — Fantasie: “…in aeternum…” (Faith, Hope, Love) (2013) for organ
Fantasie: "…in aeternum…" (Faith, Hope, Love) (2013) is representative of Bräuer's style, which he describes as "characterized by a sense of the profoundly sacred and mystic, with direct symbolism and high emotionality for the aim of thoughtful listening." The subtitle "Faith, Hope, Love" (from I Corinthians 13) is reflected in the three-part structure: a distant, mystical first part; a warmly, searching second part, and a concluding chaconne that builds to a climax marked "con grazia e amore" ("with grace and love.")
German-Sorbian composer and organist Felix Bräuer (b. 1988) was born in Görlitz and was educated in Bautzen, Dresden, and Paderborn. In 2005, he became an organist for the Catholic cathedral community "St. Petri" in Bautzen and has held several other organ and choral positions. In addition to his work as an organist and church musician, Bräuer has written many works of sacred music. In 2012 he won the first and second prizes in the composition competition of the Federation of Sorbian Singing Societies. |
