Description: | Ernest Halsey was born in Battersea, London in April of 1876. He was Organist of Anerley Congregational Church, London, around 1903.
Halsey was also a stockbroker. He died at Marylebone, London on June 20th, 1939.
"Rêverie" is quite an interesting work. It begins with a quietly flowing solo that is relaxing, and gives the impression of floating down a river on a sunny, Sunday afternoon.
But wait! The sky begins to get a bit overcast, and the wind begins to blow! Suddenly, a storm springs up and the water begins to rise in waves! However these waves aren't too frightening, and the storm soon subsides into the calm of the opening.
The floating feeling returns, and the scene ends with a feeling of serenity. :-)
It was with real pleasure that I dedicate these two Halsey uploads to my collaborating partner, Erzahler.
Andrew, your friendship is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to many more shared musical adventures with you!
