Description:
Pierre Dandrieu (d'Andrieu) (baptised in Angers on 21 March 1664 – 20 October 1733) was a French priest, composer and organist.

He was baptised in Angers. After studying with Lebègue, he held the organ of Saint-Barthélemy church (fr), now destroyed, on the île de la Cité in Paris, for more than 40 years. His nephew Jean-François Dandrieu succeeded him to this same gallery in 1733.

He died in Paris on 20 October 1733.

Pierre Dandrieu published around 1714 a book of 42 Noëls and various pieces for the organ (mainly) or harpsichord, published again between 1721 and 1733.

This noël, is the same tune in the previous upload, " À la venue de Noël", but the setting is quite different. It's probably "too long," as Dandrieu sets each phrase with a repeat.

I thought about omitting them, but for "balance" I did them.

I also thought about creating an "echo" with each repeated phrase, but that would be FAR too many changes. So, I opted to try to vary/ornament each repeated phrase.

It's long, but St. Maximin is worth listening to!

The score is attached below, as well as likeness of Pierre Dandrieu.
