H.W. Tauscher is a bit of an enigma. There are a few pieces of him around, but nothing is known of his life. I could not find the christian names that go with the initials. A year of birth and death can be found on the internet, but the source of these is unclear. Two pieces by his hand are already available on my site, a Fugue on the name of Bach (http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/22277) and a prelude to Jesu meine Freude (http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/22237).
Recently I found a manuscript, containing two further pieces by Tauscher. This Vivace is one of them. Where Tauscher in the earlier two pieces seemed a serious and thouroghly contrapuntal man, he shows himself now from a more frivolous side. A short piece, but very nice. Can be used as a postlude anytime.
