Composer: Richter, Ernst Friedrich
Sample Producer: Piotr Grabowski
Sample Set: 1898 Adolf Volkmann, Lipiny
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Romantic
Description:
This is a work in progress. It's the second prelude from the manuscript with 6 preludes and fugues by Ernst Friedrich RIchter.

Richter's organ music is reminescent of Mendelsohn's organ music. This prelude reminds me very much of Mendelsohn's prelude in g major, even though this one is in a minor tonality. A smooth flowing melodic line, largely homophonic texture and romantic chord progressions, make this fine prelude which is a joy to play. I dare even say I like this one better than Mendelsohn's g major prelude...

As is often the case, the fugue is far more difficult than the prelude. I am still working on that one. As soon as I have mastered the fugue, I'll publish the score.
