Composer: * My Own Improvisation
Sample Producer: Milan Digital Audio
Sample Set: Notre Dame de Metz Mutin/Cavaillé-Coll
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Improvisation
Description:
How well do YOU know your instrument? I mean, not just the manual and pedal keys, but all the other controls as well?
What kind of music would you produce when being guided by only your tactile and hearing senses, e.g. when you're blind out of a sudden?
How does Vannou feel and cope with this missing sense?

These were the questions I wanted to find out today, so I blindfolded myself with a scarf and started to play. The only thing I was thinking about when choosing what to play was: "OK, you have a French organ right beneath your fingertips. Try to improvise something that sounds a bit French." And then, the rest suddenly was completely automatic...

When you know of my usual stuff, you will probably find that this one sounds completely different (well, at least it sounded like this to me). This experience has been a true revelation to me. You should try it as well!

For those who own a 7.1 surround system, an 8-channel FLAC file can be picked up here to get an impression of what it will sound like in my living room:
