I have been suffering from sciatica for a while now but this past week it has been so painful I have been bed-ridden. As part of my regime to get up and start doing stuff, I decided to limit myself to about 10 minutes of organ playing. This was actually quite good, it forced me to sit well and focus.
I therefore chose two pieces that are quite short that I can upload. Dupre's 79 chorales, though short, and meant as technical exercises, do have some wonderful pieces in. Here are two advent pieces, 'Christ, der du bist der helle Tag' and 'Wachet Auf, ruft uns die Stimme.'
The first one is played with Voix Celeste and Unda Maris with tremolo. It is a manual piece only. The second uses Flute Harmonique coupled to the recit Trumpet. 16 and 8 bourdons are used in the pedal. (I realise Great should just have been flute but I misread the abbreviation GR as Great and Recit rather than short for Great lol!)
