John Riley (b. 1958) — Scottish Pipes (1999) for organ
John Riley (b. 1958) is a Scottish musician who is particularly active in the field of organ and piano improvisation. Educated primarily at Liverpool and Cambridge Universities, he also holds a Diploma in Church Music from St. Andrew’s University. Riley has taught improvisation at several Oundle for Organists and Royal College of Organists study days and has been the guest two for the London Organ Improvisation Course. His articles on improvisation have appeared in a number of publications and he has performed recitals (including improvisations on submitted themes) at a number of major music festivals.
