Jesu, Leiden Pein und Tod

After all the Christmas pieces I did recently, I make a little detour to the other end of the Christian year.

A few months ago I allready posted two works from Kittel (http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/15195 and http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/16107) taken from a manuscript owned by the Staat- und Universitätsbibliothek Dresden. But there are more treasures to discover in this manuscript. In the weeks to come I’ll post more pieces from this manuscript.

“Jesu, Leiden Pein und Tod” is one of these many pieces from the manuscript, perhaps not very original, but nevertheless a joy to play.

One of the most intruiging registers on this the Transeptorgan is the Regaal 16′ on the Borstwerk. I’m still not sure what its intended use is. So I use it whenever I think I can get away with it…
