No. 3 - Gaudeamus (4 Orgelstukken)

Another "Gaudeamus," and this one is more festive, although it remains largely in the dark D minor dorian mode throughout.

It is a brief fughetta, that is quite powerful and somewhat tricky with an active pedal part.

Here again, I "Anglicanized" it! You'll first hear the tune in the Pedal, with the 8' Clarion, which passes to the Solo Tuba in the tenor register.

This work is based on the famous and oft-used Gregorian melody that we associate with the Introit on All Saints Day.
